Title: Working Together To Promote Recovery
The conference's aim is to help and support those suffering from Obsessive Compulsive and related disorders including Body Dysmorphic Disorder and Trichotillomania.
The conference is aimed primarily at those with OCD, BDD and Trichotillomania and their family members. Professionals working in this field who are wanting to understand more about these conditions will also benefit from attending.
The big day is on Saturday 19th October 2002 and will be held at the impressive Imperial College in South Kensington, London.
The Imperial college is central London's leading academic conference centre and one of the world's leading centres of excellence for teaching and research in the fields of science, technology and medicine.
The day will comprise of Inspirational talks from 3 OCD and BDD sufferers telling their own story and from Imperial College Professor Stuart Montgomery, Professor Paul Salkovskis, Professor Anthony Sheehan from the Department of Health and TV personality DR Raj Persaud from the The Maudsley Hospital.
There will also be sixteen workshops for both sufferers and their families to choose from during the day, they include 'Helping a person with OCD - the role of carers', 'Young people with OCD' and 'Relaxation and anxiety management'.
