for Psychological Study of the Arts - The discipline
of literature-and-psychology explores literary questions using psychology,
often psychoanalytic psychology, but other psychologies as well. Literature-and-psychology
addresses such questions as, Why does this writer write the way he or
she does? Why do different people read differently, as they do? How can
we understand such-and-such a character or genre psychologically? The
program at the University of Florida is particularly strong and extends
toward the psychological study of other arts, such as film, visual arts,

Arts Medicine Association - The
International Arts-Medicine Association is a non-profit organization formed
in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1985 by Richard A. Lippin, M.D., IAMA
founding president and president through 1995. The organization has about
300 members in 20 countries. The IAMA purpose is to provide a forum for
interdisciplinary, international communication between arts and health
professionals. Members include clinicians, educators, researchers and
artists who have an interest in one or more of the many aspects of the

National Expressive Therapy Association - Founded in
the mid-1970's, The National Expressive Therapy Association is the official
not-for-profit, tax-exempt professional membership organization representing
the field of expressive therapy and expressive arts therapy. The Association
is dedicated to the advancement of expressive therapy and expressive arts
therapy in general, and to the increasing welfare of practitioners and
the public they serve. Among its specific purposes are to promote the
general recognition of the profession, to further the professional goals
and aspirations of its members, and to develop additional opportunities

Northern
Ireland Group for Art as Therapy - The founding of
the Group was inspired by Rita Simon, Art Therapist, who is now President
of NIGAT. Rita is also a founding member of the British Association of
Art Therapists. She is now Honorary President of BAAT. To date, Rita Simon

The Rita
Simon Collection is a collection of artwork (made between 1942-1984)
deriving from Rita Simon's 55 years of work as an art therapist in private
practice, hospitals and day centres of the National Health Service and
